Influences
i'm influenced by the weather, the news, the sound of children laughing, airline discount fares, hormones, the passing of James Brown, the literature of jazz, oddball effects pedals, music written by my friends, cheese, intoxicants of various ilks, fire, beautiful words no matter where they might be found, time travel, worn guitar picks, all manner of keyboard instruments, darkness...................

Sounds Like
....>
when you drop a nickel down a flight of stairs, and your microphone positioning is such that you achieve a natural reverb so as not to impede the insight you might notice in some of the utterances of the human being behind the other, often more compressed microphone signals
...or Stevie Wonder, H.L. Mencken, and some wise but toothless person...momentarily locked inside a Beatles album...
with incessant talk radio in the background
but yet it sounds like that familiar pair of shoes feels, and it burrows into your brain...you wake up the next day humming it...
and then you check the lyrics and notice how literate they are, which isn't necessarily saying much...
the old New Orleans, with a bit of the new New Orleans woven in
it's the kind of music that video geeks should make beautiful short films out of them, and then send them to me...
Get up off your ass and do something. Okay? Quit complaining.
You voted, right? And who counted the votes?
Perhaps you emailed your Congress-whore once or twice. Fine. Great. Pat yourself on the back. Not enough. We're coming up on 4 years since the most recent chapter of Death and Destruction in Iraq was launched from Dick Cheney's bunker.
The bloodthirsty criminals running the table right now are going for broke! Do you understand me? If you don't personally do something - and quick - the last gasp of our experiment with democracy will come to haunt you. Our freedoms are being dismantled, demolished, eradicated, finished, gutted, hijacked, insubordinated, jettisoned, and so on...
..........I have had my activist-minded songs played on numerous radio stations, and have performed live on nationally syndicated radio. You should really listen to the Mike Malloy show.
I have taken to recording stuff all on my own these days. I have been known to record other folks as well. Every time I google myself (c'mon...all the cool kids are doing it) I unearth yet another video project that has used one of my songs as the soundtrack.
I am the sound man at Camp Casey...have you heard of it? What have you done today to bring the troops home?
..........Did I mention that you need to become more actively involved in the world around you, like fucking now.
I'm a Prairie Dog...know what that is? We were all arrested in Crawford, Texas standing up for your 1st Amendment rights. Only two of us have been charged, and found guilty of obstructing an un-named road by a kangaroo court in Waco. Thank us by imitating us.
Seriously, if you whine later after the neoConvict protoFascist tactical nuclear winter, I won't be around to hear you. Our planet is in trouble. Our country is in trouble. People's children are dying needlessly in wars for profit. It is a completely unnecessary horror, but a very real horror. Imagine it were your son, daughter, neice, nephew, brother, sister, friend, cousin, mama, papa getting blown up by a car bomb.
Educate yourself...listen to good music, and start to think about ways that you can make a difference...show up at a protest sometime, or organize your own...practice civil disobedience to defy unjust laws and ordinances...
Oh, yeah...and send me some friggin money, would ya? Click up on my website and buy something to support my rabble rousing activities. All tax combustible.

love is a form it calls to all, for the essence of panic is chaos of no desirable trait except wished upon thy enemy. So as i do much more than stumble through this persistant, pathetic, chaos laden frustration, I hear the call. love is in my head, love is in my very being, and i know to strut on. i laugh about 'staying alive', for I now know I will always be.
