Musician, Producer, Engineer, Songwriter, and Higher Ground Music founder Jesse Johnson has performed in every major city in America, as well as Europe. He has played drums, bass, guitars, & keys for multiple acts across the country, and in the studio on numerous records. After leaving The Boston Conservatory of Music to join the National Touring Company of the Broadway Musical, "Hairpsray" (now a major motion picture), Jesse began developing his production and performance resume in San Diego, and later New York City.
Jesse has played and recorded with such bands as WRECKETH (NYC), Settly (NYC), Rice Rokit (SD/LA), The James Haworth Band (LA/OC), and The Jesse Johnson Band (SD). As an engineer, he has been lucky enough to work with and learn from Grammy award winning engineer, Ibo Rodriguez. He has also been blessed to work with such artists as Ashley Parker Angel (of O-Town), Naturi Naughton (of 3LW), R&B sensation Tevin Campbell, American Idol Finalists Diana DeGarmo & Sabrina Sloan, Darlene Love ("He's a Rebel," "Da Doo Ron Ron"), Alan Childs (David Bowie, Rod Stewart), Frank Canino (Cornell Dupree, Warne Marshe/Sal Mosca Quartet), and many more.
What's up!? Just wanted to let you know what was going on with P6! Our 9th anniversary show is this Halloween! We will be playing with Bulletboys (Smooth Up in Ya back from the 80's!), Bionic Jive (AZ's resident old-school rap/rock soldiers!) and more at The Platinum Club inside Skye.
Also we're finally recording new tracks! Keep an eye out in November for our 2 track EP featuring songs off our upcoming new album "The New Amerikan Idols." We've just launched our second Internet Radio Station on May 18, 2009. Our fisrt station was launched in May 1999 and it features Unsigned/Indie bands from around the world.
