We play in restaurant and bar settings. We have been doing this for three years now on a professional basis.” -Who would you say has most inspired you?- “I know of many people in my life who inspired me. Each in different ways. My whole family has shown me how to live a dignified and honorable life. Do you have any hobbies?- “Music is both my hobby and my work. Music is a part of all aspects of my life. But I do enjoy dancing and cooking, as well as singing.” -What do you like best about your hometown?- “I love that it is a very welcoming, comforting town, since I’m not a “city boy”. Singer Jesse Liam from the musical duo Jesse Jack’son, is a 20-year-old singer from Rhode Island, and a student at Rhode Island College. Jesse has been singing for most of his life and he has put together a band with his dad Jack Gauthier. The duo has been aptly named “Jesse Jack'son.” Jesse’s dad is a Grammy nominated producer, life long musician, and a manager to blues music legend Duke Robillard. The duo debuted at Bentley’s Tavern in Scituate RI, December 06 and has been a featured act there many times.

Jesse and his father have been singing professionally together for 4 years now. They have learned over 60 cover songs many with unique and interesting arrangements. They have been especially lauded for their tight harmonies and irresistible stage presence that are the hallmark of this father and son duo. Some of the artists covered in their extensive repertoire include: the Beatles, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, the Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, the Bee Gees, the Police, Carrie Underwood, the Supremes, etc.

Despite his youth, Jesse had put together his first three-song demo, backed by some of the Northeast’s best session musicians, back in February '07. Coming from a more organic and real place than the average teen, buoyed by studio trickery and gang vocals, Jesse just wants to sing and perform. The demo is being shopped to managers and record labels. And in the summer of '06, Jesse traveled to New York to audition for “American Idol” receiving positive feedback from the judges and gaining a second audition. He maybe plans to give it another shot next time the auditions are near his home town. During the Christmas season of 2006 Jesse and Jack got to perform, in front of 600 plus people, in the Coast Line Women’s Chorus (Internationally-based) and the Narragansett (RI) Bay Men’s Choir holiday show. Jesse was also a finalist in the “New Face Of Verizon” contest, chosen in the top 20 out of over 800 entrants, back during the summer of '07. In spring of '09 Ted's Montana Grille held a contest to see who could come up with a great jingle for their restaurant. Jesse's running was 38 out of 6500 people. In the fall of '09 Jesse found himself competing in the native-to-Boston competition known as Community Auditions, and he won his episode. Also during the autumn season of 2009 Jesse's first, full debut album became a reality thanks to the professional musicians and songwriters that lended support to Jesse. Jesse has had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at Providence College hockey and basketball games. He will even sing for all you love birds on Valentine's Day, at the restaurant of your choice, like he has done in the past. Jesse was the winner in Rhode Island College's singing contest known as "RIC Idol '10." Jesse and his dad were also featured on the popular Rhode Island morning talk show called "The Rhode Show" in the winter of 2010. Jesse Jack’son also made another television appearance on the Southern New England show called, “An Hour with Bob,” twice already. In the spring of 2010, Jesse Liam’s album “Father from a Man” was nominated for ‘Americana Album of the Year’ in Motif magazine. Also in Motif magazine Jesse and his dad (Jesse Jack’son) were nominated for ‘Best New Act’ the same year. Jesse Jack’son has had the privilege to open up for Mary Ann Rossoni and the band Barefoot Truth and Pete Francis (from Dispatch). In June 2010, native-Rhode Islander Brendan Kirby was so kind to let Jesse Jack’son make an appearance and perform on his show titled “Wicked Late.” Jesse Jack’son has also been interviewed, twice, on Classical 95.9 WCRI radio station out of Exeter, RI. In July of 2010, Jesse and his dad got the chance to perform at the Lexington Farmer’s Market in Lexington, MA. August 2010 was a big month for Jesse and Jack, they were featured on “The Rhode Bytes,” a comedic talk show out of Rhode Island, and Jesse Liam performed the National Anthem at the start of a Pawtucket Red Sox baseball game. Also very exciting, a program coordinator from NBRN.FM (a Country, Gospel, Americana and Bluegrass radio station in the Nashville market) found Jesse Liam’s music on his ReverbNation site and asked him to add his music to the station's rotation. In September 2010 Jesse Jack'son performed outside at the Waterstreet Cafe in Fall River, MA during the Narrows Festival of Arts. To kick off the month of October 2010, Jesse Jack’son headlined the Rhode Island College Homecoming as the winner of RIC Idol 2010. Over the 2010 Columbus holiday weekend, Jesse Liam got the chance to sing the National Anthem for the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island (Order Sons of Italy in America)'s 34th Annual Columbus Day Banquet. The University of Rhode Island Rams’ Men’s Basketball has had Jesse sing the National Anthem for them at their Ryan Center Arena. Jesse Jack’son has had articles regarding their music in news outlets such as: the Providence Journal, the Northern RI Observer, the RI South County Observer, Motif Music Magazine, the Warwick (RI) Beacon, and GoLocalProv.
