life, travel, the color in the sky just after the sun sets, dreams, devils, waterfalls, angels, love, pain, joy, lust, loss, wise cat happy, live at pompeii, tony the tiger, electricity, of course my old band stegosaurus, whatever's drifting over the airwaves, trains, rasberries, impossible things, fleeting moments of incredible clarity, new orleans, you, everything and nothing, anything really...
After scientifically experimenting with hand feeding wild Bengal tigers in India dressed as a zebra, I decided to take up the sacred sport of basejumping. In a near death experience after ill-advisedly leaping off the 8 floor Granada building in Malaga...
Ok, most of that was a dream. Here's the facts. I'm Jesse, I've made music pretty much all my life. From the time I was a kid making up nonsense songs and all through high school when I practiced guitar religiously and learned how to record on through today. I was in the band Stegosaurus at the tail end of the last century. We recorded an album up in Seattle for Warner Brothers with Soundgarden's producer (their drummer Matt Cameron played percussion), and Led Zeppelin's mixer (Andy Johns) and toured a bit. When our song was playing on the radio, we opened for Toad the Wet Sprocket, members of Weezer, even Megadeth once, odd pairing (but fun show). We sold records in over 20 countries and they liked the song "Trees" in Greece. The band broke up, Stan the bassist made a family and Dave the drummer lives on a ranch in Colorado. We're all dear friends still.
Since then I've been playing solo acoustic shows (much less gear to move around) and making film soundtrack music. I've played with Glen Phillips and Jack Johnson and a number of good talented people who I forget their names right now. I like wilderness, basketball, tennis, and movies, and have recently relearned how to go to sleep before 2 am. Thanks for stopping by.
Jesse Jesse, I logged in to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and was unprepared for how beautiful "Anyway" is. Hope all is well and may your year be big, bright and beautiful. C
What happened to you wanting to go to the Black Hills and hiking and all that jazz? Of course, the opportunity to kick it with me... hell, we can even go to Mitchell and see the Corn Palace and make up cheesy corn palacey songs on the drive there :-P and I did listen to it... so that means you owe me a visit lol
Thanks for the add and for checkin out the tunes! I recorded Way Away for a Toad fan appreciation CD that unfortunately never was produced, (at least not to my knowledge), but had a great time trying to keep it true but do it my way. I think it came out pretty good, I could've sang it better but we are our own worst critics. Love the tunes man, keep it up!
Dear Sir, It's me your old long lost friend. The strangest thing happened to me tonight. I'm house sitting for my dad while he is on a bday trip to vegas. I can't recall the last time I spent more than an hour in this place I once called home. While waiting for some laundry to finished I decided to play on the computer... where in some old files still saved under my access name (thank you dad) was the first copy of "time goes by" that you sent to me.. what? well over 5 years ago?... You know it has always been my favorite. But as I listened to it tonight it had a whole new meaning... and I love it all so much more. Take care, youre always in my thoughts and my heart. You truely are a musical master. -Me
