The Jesse Schurr Band blends a variety of styles and rhythms from folk & country to jazz & funk. This diverse mix has enabled them to attract a very wide-ranging audience. Jesse's lyrics paint a portrait of her life experiences
and the music is her canvas. All four members bring their ideas to the table to develop the bands sound and voice, and four-part harmonies help to enhance the soulful expression of Jesses melody lines. The band has graced the stage of many major venues in the Philadelphia area, including the TLA, Grape St. Pub, World Café, Abilenes, and the North Star Bar, where they opened for Allanah Davis. They have also branched out to Theater, playing the Philly Fringe Festival and as musical guest for the comedy groups Skitsoid and Madhouse Theater Co. They are featured on the Philly local band website songspot.org. With a sound that is sensual and grooving, the Jesse Schurr Band creates a ambient atmosphere that makes its audience want to get up and dance one moment and then relax and soak it in the next.
