Jessica DiMond Biography
Sultry. Hypnotic. Powerful. These are just a few words that describe the music of Singer/Songwriter Jessica DiMond. At 24-years of age she displays an exquisite array of style and song with her exotic, emotional voice, hooking lyrics and classic string and electronic based melodies. As an industry colleague has said, "Jessica's music has the WOW factor, no two ways about it!" - Songwriter Demetrius "Sir Jam" co-writer for the artist formerly known as Prince.
Born the youngest of nine, Jessica was raised throughout the American southwest. Growing up, her creative roots began at an early age as she took part in numerous plays, dance lessons, local talent and television shows, including a featured extra part in NBC's "Unsolved Mysteries". But it was at 13 years of age that she took her most pivotal step. She bought a musical keyboard and began to write music.
At 16, Jessica recorded her first 3-song studio demo. Soon thereafter she was introduced to a local Salt Lake City, Utah Deejay Nick Fry. The DJ was so impressed by the youth's innovative sound and style her invited her to be part of his a.m. radio show on K.A.L.L. 9.10. During the interview Nick featured Jessica's song, "Ideal World" and dubbed her, "The next Fiona Apple or Jewel. A musician of promise".
Two years later the Singer/Songwriter relocated to Los Angeles, California where she worked the local circuit of clubs, open mics and parties. At 19 she was chosen out of thousands of audition tapes from around the U.S. to participate in the NBC reality series, "American Princess". There Jessica, along with 19 other girls were trained in the art of etiquette, speech, and presentation. The series is now on regular syndication on the W.E. (Women's Network) channel.
At 21 Jessica headlined a performance in front of a 1,200 + audience for a film festival in Lovell, Wyoming. She was featured alongside actor Jose Solano (Baywatch, JAG, CSI Miami) and sold over 400 of her independently produced CDs. Her song, "Slipping Away" was also played on local radio stations throughout Wyoming and Montana during the extravaganza.
Currently Jessica DiMond resides in Los Angeles, California. She has an archive of over 100+ self-penned songs and is recording her first independent album, which she describes as "Pop Hybrid, a mix of classical, rocktronica and pop".
