NEW MUSIC, NEW ALBUM, NEW CAUSE...Standing in a room and listening to the booming vocals energizing the crowd at one of her packed performances, it’s easy to see that Jessica Jarus owns the stage. With a unique soulful blend of pop-rock and alternative sounds, this girl flaunts the powerhouse pipes of an artist far beyond her years. Jessica continues to be discovered on her tours around the nation and specifically all over the Minneapolis music scene playing at a wide variety of high end clubs, colleges (entire student bodies), music festivals, churches, youth conferences, retreats, camps, etc. along with performing shows with other developed/majorly signed artists such as NeedtoBreathe, Mainstay, Sanctus Real, Remedy Drive, Children 18:3, Elizabeth Hunnicutt, Mark Alan, Caitlyn Smith and many more. Jessica just finished her 3rd CD, a full length album titled, "Dying to Love". This album is her best work yet, it truly captures who she is as an artist. This disc is dedicated to her mother Cindy. Cindy was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2006. As Cindy battled her cancer the past 2 years Jess was right there with her, often writing songs about the different chapters of life. Cindy passed away May 13th 2008. Although it is unclear to Jess why her mom had to go so soon Jess is comforted in knowing that God's plan is divine and He is taking care of her and her family. "As my mom became more and more ill, it was so apparent to me that God was closer than ever before. There was a holiness about her and I often found myself in a constant state of prayer and worship, when it was just the two of us. We knew that eternity for my mom was near and that God was telling us all 'I’ll never leave you or forsake you.' My mom knew where she was going, she knew that Jesus lived in her and was right beside her. Cancer didn’t defeat my mom, my mom conquered death through Christ, and I believe that as she met Jesus face to face for the first time He greeted her saying 'Well done my good and faithful servant.' My passion for God and for music is different now. My mom lived selfless; she lived for God and His plan. I want to do the same. I believe that God has given me a gift to be approachable and to minister through relationships. I believe he can use my gifts to reach people in both the mainstream realm of music and in Christian...I just want to be sent out and used"........... “I am extremely passionate about sharing my music and driven to accomplish my goals in doing that. I have realized that this is what I was made to do and I want my voice to be heard. I have a specific desire to relate to and inspire those who are hurting. We are all human and all fall short, but I want to bring a message of hope, and a message of grace to those who hear me.”-JJ
so, i was playing a show in menomonie with jake dilley a few weeks ago, flipped through a local music magazine from a few months ago, and whose face was staring right up at me? yep. it was yours. and it was beautiful! and i was like, dang i know her. and all the guys were like, dang, you know her?
