Jessica Lee began her formal musical training at age five with the study of piano and participation in classical piano competitions. Her piano training and performance served as a solid foundation for her next and lasting endeavor the search to "play" well her most favored instrument - the human voice.
Jessica's musical training and performance experience span many different types of Classical and American music and venues. She has studied classical vocal technique and theory at Duke University in North Carolina and continues to study such technique today in certain private studios throughout the country. She has studied jazz vocals, piano and theory with jazz greats Paul Jeffrey, Tony Janflone Sr., James Johnson, Ph.D., and other jazz musicians in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania, who have served as invaluable mentors to her. She also has a law degree from Duke University School of Law with a focus on business, entrepreneurship and the arts.
Currently, Jessica's live performances include a fusion of Jessica's influences which include Blues, Jazz and R&B/Soul and Gospel/Spirituals. She recently released her debut album, "Bluebird Fly," (see www.jessicaleesong.com). And, Jessica is going into the studio in January to begin work on her sophomore CD project - "Rhythms of Anyway."
Jessica is just beginning national and international touring around the "Bluebird Fly" project and continues to spend time performing, learning, and teaching a small, select private studio. She has also devoted time to assisting with the development of a nonprofit - the America's Music Crossroads Center - which is an incubator/accelerator for programs and projects that pass American Music education and appreciation on to the next generation of students and that foster entrepreneurship in the professional artist community.
