Abe Heller	Jan 9 2008 8:28 PM Today I walked down the road for a newspaper and the vendor said, "Have a nice day, sir." Hoo boy. I wasn't expecting that one. I shot back with, "Why thank YOU sir, I will in fact TRY to have a nice day but at my age it's not that easy anymore. However, I will certainly try." The fact is, I don't appreciate when people shove that "have a nice day" finkydiddle bugaboo up my royal keister and I refuse to snort that line up like the schnozzle candy the hippies are taking. Growing up I had to LINE up for class, and then during lunch I had to LINE up at the school cafeteria and then finally I had to wait on LINE for the school bus to go home. It was hard to "have a nice day" under those conditions, yet I never subscribed to the "if it feels good, do it" hippie ethic, although I did feel that impulse on occasion, so they're not all wrong but not quite the cottage of convenience either. But those childhood memories, and then what happened with Jill after school when she said she was going to teach me a lesson, are all but best forgotten. For whatever it is, you can't change the world.
