Sounds Like
I hear all kinds of different opinions on who I sound like (mostly folk rock women from the 70s), but I never really listened to any of them. I say, I sound like me...but compare me to others if you wish.
Jessica Maughan grew up singing with her family in smalltown Orrville, Ohio. Inspired by her parents to sing, play, write, and perform, she moved to New York City at 23 in pursuit of many dreams...
She encountered a lot of fun and interesting surprises along the way, held some crazy NYC jobs, made and lost some amazing friends, learned new things about herself, fell head over heels for the best man alive, and changed her career focus.
Now an extremely happily married 26-year-old and a mom of one beautiful son, she is up for big challenges and exciting adventures (including moving across the country and back, soon) and her music is more inspired than ever. But, she will never forget where she came from in order to never take for granted where she goes.
Jessica Maughan, this is Jazzbones. You broke my heart when you left. I thought we had something special. But I will put you in my top 40. Because I'm a sentimental old club and I still love you with all my liquer drenched heart!
No... Cant go to the funeral... Its in utah and i will be there at the end of the month. Its my foster parents mom.. Who was an amazing woman... She will bbe missed dearly.
Jessica, Thanks for visiting our MySpace site and being our new friend. We hope that all is well in your life. Black Angel will be releasing our third album in two years on Earth Day April 22, 2009. It is called "O' San Francisco". We asked Tiffany Lowe, granddaughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (and daughter of country singer, Carlene Carter, and British rocker, Nick Lowe) to sing on the album. The top picture below is of Tiffany in the studio recording with us. The album is dedicated to a close associate of Black Angel who recently died who was a big Johnny Cash fan. We also have former Johnny Cash drummer, Danny Darling, playing on the album. We hope to be touring soon and we may be playing shows with former Black Angel singer, Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner. The bottom picture is of Black Angel playing at The Roxy in Los Angeles a few years ago with (left to right): Tomeka Haywood; me; Audrey Turner; and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner on bass). Please check us out when we come to your town.
