HI! I've worked in Resorts now for almost two years and am currently in my 6th International singing contract. I began with the 6 star Shangri-La, Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Oman and just finished working for the 5 star Park Hyatt in Saigon.
I also am now music and drama teacher at the Al Shalman Theatre Institute in Oman and am loving it. I have newly joined funk band 'Syrup' and am soon to be starting doing gigs at the stunning Chedi restaurant in July.
Before I moved OS, I trained in classical and blues before attending The MASQUE National Institute of Performing Arts and The Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. I worked in bands including Venus, The Mo Fo's and The Everyday People. I also played at venues including The Basement, The Vanguard and the Derwent Entertainment Centre, in a jazz trio on Lindermann Island, onboard The Spirit of Tasmania Cruise Liner on and off for 3 years, onboard the Craig James Tall Ship in Darling Harbour on NY's and taught at Centerstage Academy as singing/drama and modelling teacher. One of my original ballads recorded with SONY records, was put onto The Tsunami Relief Album in 2004 under Petrol Records.
My job takes me all over the world so take a look at the 2nd slide of pics I took on my travels to Egypt, Syria, NZ, Oz, Singapore, Dubai, America and Saigon. There are pics of me and my boyfriend too who works for Shell in Oman. He was born in Australia too so we want to move to Melbourne in the next year to live.. i can't wait. Australia is the best continent in the world :)
One of the bands orginals 'Flow' that I co-wrote with guitarist Pete Bursky, was just got put onto an Australian compilation so keep an eye out as it will hitting stores soon.. check out the song and the album cover on this page.
I'm coming home to Australia in 2008 to record a new funk album with my band through Dorothy Records.
My dream is to perform on West End or Broadway. we'll see how we go, I don't think I could chose a more competitive area of performing to get into.. I'd love to get a role in a modern musical like rent or hairspray. Wish me luck!

Hey Jessica, how are things with you? how is the singing going? I got some big news basically I can't seem to find any work in the music industry here in Australia, so I am probably gonna move over to America at some stage to try and find work. I am already going for a holiday in April but I am doing one more gig here then probably go, but if I can get work here I will stay but 4 now that my plan. probably go later in the year. Chris
yeah he's from devonport :) very very good teacher! i've learnt SO much from him and its really helped my voice alot! Yeah i'm in the burnie youth choir! katy Parkinga started it and its really taken off! like 90 members of all ages from like 8 (or younger i even think) to like early 20's aimed at 12 year olds to 20ish though. its a contempory pop choir just started to have fun! We went to sydney last year for the eisteddfod type thing over there, and we won best show/pop choir!! great fun! Yeah i'm hoping to either go to a performing arts school like waapa (practically impossible to get inot though lol) or nida or vca or even just uni studing either musical theatre or contempory music... then most likely study education too in drama and endlish hopefully. i got into the national finals late last year of 'storm the stage' have you heard of it? the finals are in Perth and its for musical theatre and drama. i did musical theatre of course lol only 2 got in from tazzie for musical theatre and it was the BEST experience! i got to go look around waapa and everything! so much fun! i didnt win or anything but just getting to the finals was amazing as like 7 out of the 10 people from around australia in my section were studying at waapa!!! but it was great fun and met some great people!
yeah it was mainly the burnie youth choir and a few other items then just carols with the same people for the rest of the night... kinda gay but fun. jacko whitely sang too. i go to Brett Budgeon now. he's AMAZING. He has the BEST voice! he's classically trained but contempory as well. really good teacher! :)
