I do everything. Vocals, guitars & bass, keys & electronic drums, and the occassional saxophone part.
EXCEPT on "Nartavius the Destroyer," piano chords recorded by Niraly, and the whole song was written by both of us. I wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals myself a few months after we recorded the music together.
Influences
The Smashing Pumpkins, Hole/Courtney Love, Auf der Maur, No Doubt, Veruca Salt (:D), Tori Amos, Regina Spektor
I've recorded four CDs: Concrete Walls, Songs from Eve, Una PuertA, and With Johnny by my Side. If you want to download them for free, head on over to this website: http://jessica.shugpro.com (With Johnny by my Side is not up yet)
So here's my musical to-do list, people!
1) Get artwork done for With Johnny by my Side, my acoustic EP that I finished forever ago and never uploaded
2) Send all the stuff for With Johnny by my Side to my website guy 3) Buy a battery for my distortion pedal... 4) Go shopping all over for a cheap drum machine. 5) Re-record With Johnny by my Side for higher quality to give away with the compilation CDs I'll be selling
6) Start developing the 50 million ideas I have in my head riff-wise, get them all written down, and record rough demos for all of them
7) Add lyrics and more depth musically, record the real versions of all of the songs 8) Figure out a title...
9) Get the artwork done
10) Send it all in to my website man
11) Start thinking of the next album...
12) Find some places to play?
we had already planned on doing that. so... theres good news for you. we can join forces. and by join forces, i mean make pretty singing children that have a strange obsession with afro-beat music, Jack Kerouac, hay bails, and horse skulls.
Glad you enjoyed it. Personally, I still prefer Carnavas, but only by a slight margin. But anything by SSPU is great, there's honestly no song I've ever heard that I haven't liked in on way or another.
And now something odd that you hopefully haven't heard of: James Iha and Taylor Hanson in the same band. The lineup gets even stranger as you find out who the drummer is, but it's surprisingly good!
1) Have you heard the new SSPU album Swoon yet? It's really, really good. If not, I can get it to you through COMPLETELY LEGAL MEANS (<_<) 2) Will you be uploading your cover of Ava Adore anytime soon? 3) Enjoy the day, it's supposed to get up to 80 here. I can imagine it'd be warmer down in IL.
I am still enjoying your netphoria christmas cover cd. It sits in my rotation with other pumpkin songs. :) Even James Iha solo, BC solo and Zwan does not get that honor. If you ever decide to make another cover cd, I am all about it (Although Netphoria is kind of dead now because of the new O board!)
