Jessica was raised a red-blooded Jersey girl, where spotting Springsteen along the Jersey Shore was common place amongst her friends & family. To date, she still has yet to see the Boss in his element, "I don't get it. Everyone has seen him except me. Though, I did see Bruce Willis proudly wearing a Yankee's hat on the train once."
After learning to play guitar in her friend's apartment in Boston while in school at Emerson College, Jessica had the opportunity to traveled to Ghana, West Africa in 2002 to perform for thousands of kids all over the country, "That trip changed my life... it was like being The Beatles. I definitely learned more about music hanging out with those kids then I could ever hope to teach myself. One night we were playing at an all girls' school, Lord knows where... it was very dark... and there was a girl off to the side of the stage playing a small drum set... after a severe double take, I realized that she was actually banging away with STICKS. Like sticks off a tree! After that experience, I vowed to never complain about not having the right gear... if the music’s in you, it's gonna come out one way or another."
Jessica was a regular on the Los Angeles coffeehouse circuit throughout 2005-2006 and was featured at several top venues including Highland Grounds and Room 5 and was even cast as a featured Troubadour for the Season 6 finale of the Gilmore Girls ("Partings"). She also had the honor of playing Bruce’s original stage, The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ to help raise money and awareness for the Garden Academy School for Autistic Children.
She has since been spotted around Wilmington, NC where she moved in early 2007 and after wrapping up a bit of a self-proclaimed hiatus, Jessica is looking to release her first self-titled EP in early 2009.
P.S. She’s also named after the Allman Brothers’ “Jessica” which was very cool move on her parents’ part.
