Sounds Like
if oscar wilde crawled inside of a piano and then drank a lot of espresso.
"She is one of the area's most promising young talents and for very good reason. Her voice is both soulful and incredibly bright and has been the topic of discussion for many ever since her outstanding performance at South by Southwest." MyDentonMusic.com
"Frye fairly exploded the conventions of penning and crooning your own tunes, alternating between sassy defiance, wide-eyed vulnerability and sultry beckoning during her tight, eclectic set."
SXSW 2009 performance review- Preston Jones, www.dfw.com
"It's a stirring moment from an effort that balances professionalism with passion, slick production and performances that cannot mask the inherent emotion of a half-dozen songs perfectly suited for the National Public Radio set. If Frye ever chooses to venture further from the safety net of her undeniable talent, she might prove to be dangerous in alarming ways."
The Delve EP -Darryl Smyers, Dallas Observer
"Jessie Frye, who has a soulful voice, can craft Triple-A gems, and is photogenic. She — or her music — should be on some CW TV show, and I mean that in the best ways possible." -Fort Worth Weekly
Nominated for Best Female Vocalist in the Ft. Worth Weekly 2009 Music Awards.
The Delve EP Available on iTunes.
I began playing piano when I was twelve. Soon after that I decided to be home schooled. I spent those days and nights heavily immersed in literature and music. Something bigger than myself told me that nothing was more important than pursuing the creative spirit inside of me. So, I followed that guidance.
In August of 2008 I released my first EP titled The Delve. Since then I have put together a band and have started playing shows around Texas. Currently I am writing and recording new material for the next album.
As a musician and an aesthetic, my goal is to create music with substance, depth and a quality of beauty. Everything comes to life with expression. Art is truth for me. When I write, everything makes sense. I want to share that beauty, that intimacy- even if it is just for three minutes and thirty seconds.
Hi Jessie! It seems like FOREVER since the last time I dropped by your page; and I saw you were online, and thought I'd take the time to say HELLO! Still LOVING your cd; and can't wait to one day soon see you perform in person! I hope things are well with you and your loved ones; and that 2009 has been very good to you!
Enjoy the rest of your week! Till next time, take care! Peace!
