"a singer/songwriter with a very unique muscial style...clearly has a gift for songwriting and pays close attention to lyrical detail..." - Aberdeen Uni Student Radio
Jessica Yong can't play guitar for beans (or sausages), has finally escaped Aberdeen, is currently another useless, insignificant waste of space to society. I think the wife concurs - she says I am a digestive.
Apart from being miserable 99% of her life, Jess tries to make music that sounds 'alright'. If it doesn't sound alright, then don't listen to it. Or alternatively, swear at me in the street/online/behind my back and tell me to grow up.
Yongtendo. Makes people a bit deaf, a little less sane, and generally very unhappy. Good times.

Yo Jess! Hope yr well :) Three days without the big W, back to being a normal relaxed person again, yeah! Over and out. Blah blah blah below:
Our new release "Like Alchemy EP" is now out on Fife Kills: records. Recorded live overnight in a church in Edinburgh. Full band for the first time: saw/cello/harmonium (pandemonium)/autoharp/double bass etc etc.
250 limited edition stamped and numbered copies in recycled packaging. £4 only through Paypal on the myspace page (www. myspace. com/robstjohn)
Some kind folks have said some kind things:
“a fragile and haunting thing. St John's guitar jangles discordantly from time to time, the harmonium wheezes gently in the background, and the eerie warblings of a saw occasionally rises from the ether, lending the whole thing a comforting, after-hours feeling reminiscent of James Yorkston or David Thomas Broughton” 4/5 The Skinny magazine
“harmoniums, saws and guitars creak and groan into a musical balm and is simply the best and most surprising thing I've heard in ages” Lonesome Music
"Like Alchemy is simply one of the best EPs I’ve heard in 2008 and the title track is one of this year’s most beautiful songs. Simple as that.” The Daily Growl
“Bill Callahan with more orchestral flair.. Like Alchemy is a mesmerizing and compelling EP from a talented newcomer” Captain Obvious
