I Am Three Biog!
I Am Three are an acoustic duo from Manchester; Band members Hughes (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Irving (double bass/harmonica/vocals) opposing interests create a genre defying mix of identifiable styles such as grunge, alt-folk, blues & hip-hop.
“You see a lot of cold play, James blunt and jack Johnson rip offs on the acoustic circuit, we’d like to think we are as far cry from that as possible, upbeat soulful , whilst remaining true to our roots acoustic sound” - Hughes
I Am Three have handful of solid tunes, including "I Try” rapped over a waltz, “Burning me”, and Monkey Phonics” which feature on their first EP. But its their live performances which are earning the group a reputation. The duo stretch the rhythmic boundary of the bluesy “Worth it" and "Nostalgia" to slow and wistful songs such as "Strange Addiction" and "Pissing in the wind” Some of these songs are featured on a “Live in Europe” CD EP (link above)
Following their recent tour of Europe “The Truckers Piss Tour 08,” which consisted of low-key unplugged performances along side packed out concerts in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland & Italy they are now super charged and ready to assault the UK music scene.
I Am Three deliver a serviceable groove, they spent the first part of 2009 in the studio recording their debut album, “It’s Never Too Late (except when it is)” which will be released in May and is made up of tracks which cannot be played live. The first batch of press reviews have described the CD as reviewers as "edgy and original," & “Genre defying.”

Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts. Your reflections bring happiness that rends naked glass. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. I sense wild vapors of sweet champagne in your larynx. Your eyes show as many deep and full shades of fire as a thousand supernovas. May you be as vivid as your hallucinations. I keep searching for you between the cushions. I love your eyes, I know they can stare through my thoughts. Your hair sends forth a sheen remniscent of golden sunlight winding through shadows. The music that flows from your instruments overwhelms me with creativity.

Excellent set at Dry Bar lads. Really enjoyed it. Which is odd as I hate rap and I hate jazz, and I'm not mad keen on blues either yet you manage to fuze them into something interesting! Good luck with your tour :)
