Jesus Maria Herrera Moreno (Linares, Jaén – Spain, 1987) began his musical studies at the age of 10 at the Elementary Conservatory in Fuengirola (Malaga), where he obtained the First Prize at all the different levels of the student’s competition, to later finish the last four years of the professional studies at the Conservatory in Malaga in two years, obtaining also the highest mark in different subjects (Harmony, Analysis, Chamber Music, Accompaniment, etc) and honorary mentions in addition to the highest mark in piano through student competitions. He continued his studies in Sevilla, where he studied for three years with Pilar Bilbao, a student of Claudio Arrau.
He has taken masterclasses receiving the valuable influence of many great artists such as Blanca Uribe, Eldar Nebolsin, Sequeira Costa, Fabio Bidini, Julian Martin, Sergio Perticaroli, Bruno Canino, Ramzi Yassa, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Andrew Ball, Christopher Elton and Yefim Bronfman amongst others.
Since October 2006 he is a student at the Conservatoire Superieur de Paris CNR, where he has obtained the “Diplôme d’Études Musicales” in the class of Judy Chin and where he is currently studying at the “Pole Superieur d’Enseignement Artistique”, from which he will obtain his Bachelors Degree in Piano from the Conservatory and the Degree in Musicology from the Sorbonne University in Summer 2010. During the year 2008/2009 he has been an Erasmus exchange student at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he has studied with Lucy Revers.
Apart from those awarded by the conservatory, he has obtained the following prizes: 1st prize and special prize for the best performance of Spanish music at the Muñoz Molleda Competition in La Linea, 1st prize at the “Ciudad de Bollullos” Competition, 1st prize at the Muestra de Jóvenes Intérpretes in Malaga, the 1st prize at the Villanueva del Rosario Competition, the 2nd prize at the Piano Competition in Granada, the 2nd prize, a special prize given for a special musicality at the highest category of the “Marisa Montiel” Competition in Linares and the “Rafael Orozco” prize at all three categories, the 2nd Prize (the 1st prize was not awarded) at the International Competition “Vittoria Caffa Righetti” in Cortemilia (Italy), the result as a finalist at the "Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition" (being the only pianist classified) and the “Dina van Driesten Preis”, “Festival Chance Preis”, Prize of the audience, Price of the Young Jury and a special prize given for a beautiful sound at the Klavierpodium Competition in Munich.
He has given recitals and has taken part in a great range of events throughout the most part of the Spanish geography, aswell as well as in France, England, Italy, Austria, Germany and Poland (With the Torun Symphony Orchestra, under Jan M. Zarzycki).
Although his repertory is always tried to be enlarged towards the most various musical styles, he pays a special attention to Spanish music, due to the influence and support of Alicia de Larrocha, from whom he has had the privilege to receive masterclasses and private lessons.

Jesús María Herrera Moreno (Linares, Jaén, 22/06/1987) comienza sus estudios musicales a los 10 años en el Conservatorio Elemental de Música de Fuengirola (Málaga), donde obtiene los primeros premios en las distintas categorías del concurso de alumnos, para después concluir los cuatro últimos cursos de Grado Profesional en el Conservatorio “Manuel Carra” de Málaga en dos años, obteniendo asimismo sobresalientes calificaciones en otras disciplinas (Análisis, Música de cámara, Historia de la música, Acompañamiento, etc.) y menciones honoríficas en suplemento a las también sobresalientes calificaciones en piano tras concurso de alumnos. Continúa sus estudios en Sevilla, donde estudió durante tres años con Pilar Bilbao, discípula de Claudio Arrau.
Ha participado en clases magistrales recibiendo la valiosa influencia de grandes artistas y pedagogos, como Blanca Uribe, Eldar Nebolsin, Sequeira Costa, Fabio Bidini, Julian Martin, Sergio Perticaroli, Bruno Canino, Ramzi Yassa, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Andrew Ball, Christopher Elton y Yefim Bronfman, entre otros.
Desde Octubre de 2006 es alumno en el Conservatoire Superieur de Paris CNR, donde obtuvo el “Diplôme d’Études Musicales” en la clase de Judy Chin donde actualmente estudia en el “Pole Superieur d’Enseignement Artistique”, del cual obtendrá el Grado Superior de Piano del Conservatorio y la Licenciatura de Musicología de la Universidad de la Sorbona en el Verano de 2010. En el año 2008/2009 ha participado en el programa de intercambio Erasmus siendo alumno de Lucy Revers en la Universität Mozarteum de Salzburgo.
Aparte de los premios del conservatorio, le han sido otorgados los siguientes premios: 1er Premio y Premio Especial a la mejor interpretación de música española en el Concurso Muñoz Molleda de La Linea de la Concepción, 1er Premio en el Concurso Nacional “Ciudad de Bollullos”, 1er Premio en la Muestra de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Málaga, el 1er Premio en el Concurso de Villanueva del Rosario, el 2º Premio en el Concurso de Piano de la SCAEM en Granada, los Premios “Rafael Orozco” en las tres categorías del Concurso Nacional de piano “Marisa Montiel” de Linares y el 2° Premio y Premio a la Musicalidad en la Categoría más alta de dicho concurso, el 2º Premio (quedando el 1er Premio desierto) en el “International Competition Vittoria Caffa Righetti” de Cortemilia (Italia), finalista y mejor pianista clasificado en el “Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition” (Inglaterra) y Premios “Dina van Driesten”, “Festival Chance”, del público, del jurado joven y especial “por su bello sonido” en el Concurso Klavierpodium de Munich.
Ha ofrecido recitales y ha participado en numerosos eventos en gran parte de la geografía española, así como en Francia, Italia, Inglaterra, Austria, Alemania y Polonia (con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Torun bajo la dirección de Jan M. Zarzycki).
A pesar de que su repertorio siempre se intenta enriquecer de todos los estilos de la literatura pianística, presta una especial atención a la música española, debido a un ánimo de difusión de esta música y sobre todo a los consejos y apoyo de Doña Alicia de Larrocha, de quien ha tenido el honor de recibir clases magistrales y lecciones privadas.

Jesús María Herrera Moreno (Linares, Jaén, Espagne, 22/06/1987) commence ses études musicales à l’âge de 10 ans au Conservatoire Elementaire de Musique de Fuengirola (Málaga), où il obtient les Premiers Prix dans les differentes catégories du Concours d’élèves. Il finit les quatre derniers niveaux du Cycle Professionel en deux ans, au Conservatoire “Manuel Carra” de Málaga en obtenant aussi les plus hautes mentions dans les disciplines suivantes : Analyse, Musique de chambre, Histoire de la musique, Accompagnement... et des certificats d’honneur comme supplément aux plus hautes qualifications en piano après un concours spécifique pour ce diplôme. Il continue ses études à Séville oú il travaille pendant trois ans avec Pilar Bilbao, une disciple de Claudio Arrau.
Il participe activement aux Masterclasses obtenant ainsi des conseils précieux de grands artistes et pédagogues comme Blanca Uribe, Eldar Nebolsin, Sequeira Costa, Sergio Perticaroli, Bruno Canino, Ramzi Yassa, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Jean Marie Cottet, Patrick Cohen, Joseph Banowetz, Vladimir Krpan, Andrew Ball ou Christopher Elton, etc.
Actuellement il poursuit son cursus en Cycle Specialisé au Conservatoire Superieur de Paris – CNR, où il étudie avec Madame Judy Chin.
En plus de ses divers prix de conservatoire il a été lauréat dans les concours suivants: Concurso Muñoz Molleda de La Linea de la Concepción (1er prix et Prix Spécial de la meilleure interprétation de la Musique Espagnole), Concurso Nacional “Ciudad de Bollullos” (1er prix), Muestra de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Málaga (1er Prix), Concurso de Villanueva del Rosario (1er Prix), Concurso de Piano de la SCAEM à Grénade (2e prix), Concurso Nacional de piano “Marisa Montiel” de Linares (Prix Rafael Orozco dans les deux catégories), International Competition Vittoria Caffa Righetti à Cortemilia, Italia (2e prix- 1er prix non atribué), Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition – Angleterre (Finaliste, seul pianiste classé pour cette dernière épreuve).
Il s’est produit en récital et à travers de differents événements dans de nombreuses villes d’Espagne ainsi qu’en France, Italie, Angleterre et Allemagne.
Son répertoire recouvre toutes les époques et styles de la littérature pianistique, mais il essaye de trouver toujours une place pour la musique espagnole, poussé par l’influence et l’aide de Madame Alicia de Larrocha, avec qui il a pû étudier de nombreuses fois à travers masterclasses et cours privés.
