Once a heart has been broken it is never the same again and with that they say: "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Matt Miller's emotional angst delivers painful memories from his soul into a song that will make Jesus Murphy stronger than it ever has been.
"Gone" is clearly a balance of talent and turmoil, with classic arrangements and sparse overindulgence, "Gone" will deliver Jesus Murphy from the Nativestream onto the Mainstream and beyond. Listen closely and you'll hear the bleeding aggression and emotional transgressions which proves that Matt Miller is truly an original major talent.
Originally formed in 1997, Jesus Murphy has rocked many stages and seen many faces. Through the years, the lineup has changed, but it is evident that Jesus will continue to rock it’s shows filled and fueled by crowd energy as well as their unique blend of Heavy Hard Rock Power Chord Chocolate.
The current line up consists of Jesus Miller, ripping out a resurgence of repressed angst, manifested through the use of his guitar, slide guitar and vocals. The Hard Rock motor providing the rhythmic trance of power is made up of the brawn bass styling of Keith Silver and the muscle driven intense drumming provided by Frank Miller.
In 2000 Jesus murphy released the album "The Road Less Travelled" which gained a small cult following with the songs "My Baby""Shake"and "Jesus Murphy".
Another album was not released until 2006 which seen the release of a 3 song EP entiltled "Resurgence", the musical style on this EP was unmistakenly Jesus Murphy but with a more agressive sound. It was during an interview following this release that the phrase "100% Heavy Hard Rock Power Chord Chocolate" was coined to describe the new musical direction of the band.
On the strength of Resurgence ep, the band landed some opening slots with some very rocking bands like "The Trews","Grady", "Priestess", and "State of Shock".
In the fall of 2007 Jesus Murphy was asked and went on a small tour of southern ontario with fellow Six Nations rocker/bluesman "Derek Miller", which ended with a killer set at Healey's Roadhouse during the canadian aboriginal festival.
2008 began with the preparation and writing of new material for the new album, which turned into 2 albums. May 29th saw the release of "Oro-Medonte" and "Elohcin".
Both albums showcased a wide variety of musical styles, everything from balls out hard rock to blues, including the first collaboration between "Jesus Miller" and "Tim "Toolman" Hill", who is a Hip Hop/R&B producer.
2009 sees the release of the bands 4th full length album titled "Friday Ritual", the album shows a more muture sound for the band, with that Jesus Murphy plans to continue to rock hard and continue to provide their fans with a Hard Rock revitalization.
