WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO.
JESUSpolitik works with local missionaries overseas in areas where there is a lot of need, and often, not a lot of resources. We connect them to larger human rights and missions groups that want to reach the same people in the same area.
JESUSpolitik gets the word out about these collaborated projects in America. People get a chance to get involved. We offer creative ways that people can use their talents to directly better the situation of needy people being reached across the world by JESUSpolitik projects.

CURRENT PROJECT: LOVE
MAPUTO
 JESUSpolitik is working
with local mission organization, Masana, in Maputo,
Mozambique to provide direct aide to children living on the
streets – of which there are many.
More than half of
Mozambique is estimated to be under the age of 18 and it’s
quickly become a source country for child trafficking. The
streets are lined with children in Maputo. There are so many
that are homeless. This leaves children vulnerable to sexual
molestation, bonded labor, prostitution, drug trafficking,
starvation, AIDS and more horrors than you can imagine. Life
is hard on the streets.
These are the children
that you can do something to help reach.
 Masana is an organization
born from the Reformed Church in Mozambique. Masana, which
is Shangana for 'warm rays of the sun', works to integrate
street children back in their families and society. Its
workers understand that the true light of Jesus Christ will
transform the lives of these young kids living on the
streets, who are regularly exposed to darkness and evil,
disease, hunger, abuse, and the constant danger of losing a
bright future for their lives.
Most of the kids Masana
works with are not orphans.
It’s a complex situation. There are so many families living
below the poverty line, that sometimes there simply isn’t
enough to go around. Children that deserve love and care
are abandoned to live on their own. Whether orphaned or
rejected by their families, these children have to turn to
the streets at a young age. Many are coerced into begging,
stealing, drug couriering or prostitution as means of
survival.
 Masana works to
reintegrate these kids into their families or place them in
appropriate care centers. They provide vocational training,
as well as teach them mathematics, literacy helps, English,
music, recreation, sports, civic education, and Bible
studies. They feed them, give them a clean place to shower
and show Christ’s compassion to them.
Poverty plagues the
streets and a growing number of street kids are homeless and
being coerced into prostitution, bonded labor and drug
trafficking as means of survival. Mozambique is a young
country. There are scarce resources since it was ravaged by
the independence war of the 1960s and 1970s, by recent
natural disasters and by the effects of extreme poverty and
AIDS. But there is enough to build on. 
Lives are changing
in Maputo because of the efforts of the workers
there, the collaborating organizations, those here in the
U.S. who have been moved to act .
Children are coming off
the streets and are being saved from the darkest of situations.
They’re getting education, learning new ways to make a
living and their lives have been brightened by Jesus Christ.
They have hope.

PROJECT PROFILE: NEW DEVELOPMENTS
 We
are happy to announce that
Kunhymela
House has joined together with JESUSpolitik and
will also be collaborating with the Love Maputo Project in
Mozambique.
Kunhymela House will house and
care for the street kids that Masana can’t reintegrate
into homes - these may be kids that don’t have families
at all, or have families that don’t want them.
Kunhymela House will provide a
loving, safe family atmosphere for the street kids. They
will live there together while they’re being educated,
learning new life skills and growing up.
They will learn about Jesus Christ, and see His
love demonstrated.
Right now, workers are at a crucial point -
the beginning of their ministry. They need help with funding
for housing and getting set up. You can provide that help by
praying for them and donating what you can. Every bit helps

Project Profile: Current
Situation
-
Mozambique
is a very young country, with half of it’s members under 18 years old.
An estimated 2 million people live in the capital city of
Maputo alone, but the actual population is estimated to be
much higher because of slums and other unofficial
settlements.
-
 Childhood doesn’t
last long in Mozambique. In 2002, the ILO estimated that
31.9% of all children ages 10 to 14 years in Mozambique were
already working.
-
A joint Ministry of Labor and
UNICEF rapid assessment survey of children under 18 working in
selected areas estimated that about half of all working
children began working before they reached the age of 12.
-
Poverty, lack of
employment for adults, the HIV-AIDS epidemic and lack of
education opportunities are among the many factors that force
children to work at an early age.
-
The
number of children coerced into prostitution is growing
in both rural and urban regions,
particularly in Maputo.
A large number of child victims of commercial sexual
exploitation have been already been infected with
HIV/AIDS.

With no where else to
go, many children live in the streets of Maputo.
Street
children are reported to suffer from
police beatings and
sexual abuse.

Mozambique has
quickly become a source country for child trafficking.
