Jet Lag is a radio program devoted to 60-70s progressive, psychedelic, Krautrock, fusion, experimental, strange folk, and other rarities from around the world. It airs each Sunday night from 8 to 10 pm on WRAS Atlanta, 88.5 on the FM dial (the 100,000 watt voice of Georgia State University). On the show I strive for a blend of the familiar (Can, Faust, PFM, Banco, Caravan, Van der Graaf Generator, Gong, etc.), the less familiar (Duncan Browne, Ange, Et Cetra, Pollen, Malicorne, Embryo, Carpe Diem, Maneige, Xhol, Fuchsia, etc.), and the positively obscure (Brast Burn, Phoenix, Eden, etc.). The theme of the show is international, so I generally play bands that aren't from the United States, though occasionally I'll break that rule when I come across a piece of music I really want to share. Although all time periods are open game, the show tends to concentrate on music from the late sixties and seventies. I love records, so you'll hear a lot of vinyl being spun, but whatever format I play, Jetlag is ALWAYS full fidelity--no mp3s or compressed files, ever.
**The views expressed on the show are not that of WRAS Atlanta or Georgia State University.
