About me: Born in San Fran bay area, moved to southern Cal at 13, when my dad decided to buy 5 acres and build a house. I didn't like the idea, but hey, my folks said I could have a horse. Who was I to argue. Rode for hours on the trails, but was always pretty bored.
Did pretty well in high school but sort of floundered toward the end (probably from boredom), so plans to do some sort of hi tech engineering in college rather didn't pan out. Ended up majoring in Visual Arts/Film making at UCSD but then didn't want to live in LA to work in the movie biz. Tried working for a SD based multi image/CGI company for a year, then on to an industrial model making company, but eventually went into business for myself making replica arms and armour. Got the contract to make the stuff for Army of Darkness (Sam Raimi director, Bruce Campbell lead) in 1991, and that gave me a good push forward.
Moved to Ramona in 1992, founded a historical reenactment group (The Red Company-1471, which lasted until 1994), got my first horse in '96 and began jousting in 2003 at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, England. I joust in my own armour, play polo somewhat regularly and spend the rest of my time riding herd on vendors that supply our company. I often wish I could devote a great portion of my time to my armouring, and have the chance to make myself another suit of armour, or maybe finish one of the swords I've started for myself. One of these days.........
Now I travel regularly, to England, sometimes the Netherlands. Been to NZ both of the last two February's for jousting tournaments. I love shopping in England, both Leeds and London. Found some cool stuff in Covent Garden and Oxford St.
Who I'd like to meet: Anybody interested in historical jousting and classical horsemanship, medieval history, tack, armour and all that crap. (I guess I'm just a freak because I like old shit. Call me an "action nerd".) People interested in fashion, cool haircuts, travel.
