Alright so this thing hasn't been updated in a looooong time, and I can't remember the last time I signed in here, so I decided to update things. Jet-Set Pilots released their first CD, Ready for Takeoff, on Aug. 4th, 2008, and it hit iTunes, CDbaby, Amazon mp3, and most of the other big mp3 sites soon thereafter. The band has since been temporarily separated due to college spreading the members out all around the country. There was a reunion show on Jan 2nd, 2009 to celebrate the band's reunion over the christmas holidays, and during that time we decided that this band is NOT dead! During the break we wrote 2 new songs, and started the planning stages to play some shows this summer and to record an EP over the summer as well. We are still very much alive and will continue making music into the foreseeable future. That is all!

Old bio follows:
Geez, where to begin. It all started a few years ago, at John LaBrier's house - he and David Kitts where jacking around one night and started making some interesting music. The next morning, they called up Peter Deleeuw, and an official handshake and 'it's a band' was declared!! John's younger brother, Keegan, was also in on the action at the time, but was quickly phased out (on account that he never came to a single practice...) Very shortly after the original 3 were formed they brought on Matthew Klingensmith as a drummer and Chris Daily as a solo guitar player. This formation lasted for a year or so, but eventually chris departed from the band, which was still unnamed (tho several different names were unofficially adopted for short periods). This was at the beginning of the school year (our sophomore year) - later on, in may (on the last day of school actually) Ben Hicks was adopted to replace chris after several other guitarists and bassists were tried (and all failed...) And, alas, this formation was officially named Narwhal!!! The summer was mostly uneventful, however starting the next school year (our junior year, are you keeping up?) Erik Holmgren randomly came to a recording of Kasey, around Christmas, showing up with a bass and a pocket full of "Dreams". After signing the official contract, he was added to the band (due to the fact that he was interrupting all the practices). During the school year several recordings were made, and the band started to practice more regularly.
Which brings us almost up to present. Fast forward another year or so. During the summer between our Junior and Senior year, several issues finally came to light that needed to be dealt with: Over the 3 year span since adopting Matthew Klingensmith, who then had no real guitar playing ability, as the drummer, Matt had become very interested in playing guitar, and had developed his guitar skills arguably enough to surpass that of his drumming skills. At the same time, we had been recently collaborating with Jason Snow, mostly just for fun - jamming, and doing live recording sessions. Also, in the past year, it had become apparent that Ben was a great guitar player who worked very well with the band, however his schedule had become troublesome, and he often missed performances and practices due to this. He was simply involved in different activities than the rest of the band, which caused conflicts and such. So, after much deliberation, the choice was finally made in late August, '07 to reform the band, adopting Jason Snow as a new drummer, moving Matt to lead guitar, and sadly departing with Ben. We also decided a name change was in order to represent this reform (and to stop the nagging of certain band members....) After much MORE deliberation, jet-set pilots was the first name that no one in the band hated!! And here we are!!!
