  • Bio

Jett Brando is the musical pseudonym of Jeremy Winter, member of the '90s shoegaze/dream pop outfit, All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors. Having grown up on a steady diet of The Beatles and classics from The Great American Songbook, Winter started writing original songs while still in his early teens. While in "The Flavors," Winter found that many of his songs needed to be placed in a different context in order to be realized. The "Jett Brando" moniker and project were created in order for Winter to assume full creative control of his material. The name is a nod to 1950s Hollywood. "Jett" comes from James Dean's final onscreen character, Jett Rink, while the latter half comes courtesy of Marlon. The name is befitting Winter's lifelong obsession with cinema and it complements the more vocal-centric nature of the songs. The focus of the songs continues to be the melody and the vocals. By the end of the '90s, All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors had disbanded. No longer confined by the stylistic restraints of the band, Winter decided to pursue Jett Brando as a full-time endeavor. The Movement Toward You (2000) was noticed for its somber garage pop sound, while The Jagged Junktion EP (2002), took a decidedly more eclectic approach with dälek as producer and collaborator. Still working with a semi-regular core of co-producers and band members, there is much material waiting to be released. Live performances, whether solo or with a full band, continue to surprise audience members with a wide array of sounds.

    haha exactly!
i'm a lil confused though... when you mentioned the 12 string did you mention it because of Leadbelly playing a 12 string or did you mention it because Matt or Kevin filled you in on my beloved Tayler 12 string acoustic that i detune to C? haha because if you meant the latter you are a soothsayer haha because not only did we listen to Leadbelly but we were all playing along with the 12 string in C as well haha

how this comment is long... but i'm just curious...
    Hope all is well!!!

Bio:

.. "Jett Brando" initially began as an experiment in sound collage and as a subsequent side project of ALL NATURAL LEMON & LIME FLAVORS while his alma mater was still active. Always in three places at once, JB zig-zags almost everywhere on the genre map, with moments lingering in the shoegaze and indie singer/songwriter realm. The Movement Toward You (Gern Blandsten Records 2000) was recorded by Alap Momin of dälek, and was critically praised for its subtle garage pop leanings. The Jagged Junktion EP(Go Kart Records 2002), took a more decidedly eclectic approach, with further collaborations with dälek being evident. Now there is at least another album's worth of material recorded, some of which will end up as "Embargo" (label pending), and some of which will end up on another as-yet-untitled release. As a live act, Jett Brando performs both as a band & as a solo act. Shows continue to surprise fans with a staggering array of sounds. Most of the songs end up sounding much different from the recordings. Some of the rotating line-up include members of dälek, Tiger Mountain, Then Ten, All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors. Check out the video for "Heavy Rotation"
