Producer, songwriter and remixer Jez Colin, came to prominence as a founding member of hip-hop-acid jazz pioneers The Solsonics (Chrysalis/EMI). Jez's latest record, The Latin Project, features the Billboard Dance Charts.. Number 1 song, Lei Lo Lai. The album spent 5 weeks at Number 1 on the CMJ RPM and Latin charts and features Terence Trent D'Arby, singer Debi Nova guitarist Marc Antoine and Brazilian vocalist Katia Moraes. The remix of "Lei Lo Lai" was nominated for a Grammy award in 2004.
Hailing from Brighton, England but now residing in sunnier California, Jez's eclectic sensibilities have connected him with artists as diverse as Barry Manilow (Copacabana 2005) and Morcheeba (Let Me See Remix).
Jez just completed work on an L.P with Beth Hirsch (of French band "Air") and is currently producing an album with Montreal outfit BranVan 3000 Being In Hollywood for the last few years has also naturally connected Jez with the film industry and led to several synchronizations in major movies, T.V shows and commercials.
Noteable recent remixes include Lewis Taylor's "Stoned" (with Raul Campos); Bebel Gilberto's "Aganju" (with partner Matt Cooper of The Latin Project) and Alanis Morissette's"8 Easy Steps"
