'Jharda enchanted the audience with her haunting voice and melodic strings, delicately evoking a strange desire to dance in the royal courts of Henry VIII.' - Jo & Jamie from the Met Bar, September 26th, 2009
'A unique singer-songwriter, Jharda taught herself the lever harp whilst at university and then spent several summers playing at folk festivals up and down the UK as part of a contemporary Celtic band. For the past three years she has been performing regularly as a solo artist, mesmerising audiences all over London with her mature and tuneful self-penned love songs. The delicious contrast between rich vocals and crisp, delicate harp, leaves a lasting impression on the listener, whilst introspective lyrics are delivered with folk-pop panache and a captivating emotional intensity; Jharda has found a modern edge to this timeless instrument' ------------------------------------------------------ Nights / venues I have played include: Fashion Targets Breast Cancer at Proud Galleries supporting Sophie Ellis Bextor, Camden Roundhouse, The Pigalle Club supporting Terry Reid, The Met Bar, Soho Revue Bar, Hooked on Wednesdays at Canal 125, W.E. Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Hi Jharda, i hope you like the music.. am i right, that you are my girlfriends cousin "alex noakes"????? she showed me a CD of yours and i thought it was amazing, id love to be able to play the harp, and your voice is amazing..
