I am an artist working prodimently in glass, but esentially with time, suspention and evolution.
I sculpt both wax and ice to create the initial form. The two different ways of working are similar in aesthetics and motivations but have different outcomes.
My intention with the ice is to harness its movement and transience, within the fluid yet permanent nature of glass.
The ice is eroded and sculpted with salt then cast into glass, capturing a moment in time as the ice is melting. This thawing of ice provides a physical time frame to work within, heightening the importance of artistic judgment and decision-making.
Inspired by architectural materials and tools, the forms contradict the fluid irregular surface with the strength and stature they evoke.
I have a fascination with turning one thing into another, the reaction of materials and energies acting upon each other. This direct approach provides an energetic spontaneous working method and creative mindset. This energy lives on within the work, giving a sense of progression and evolution within a solid permanent form.
The second approach is also investigating the bending and fluidity of materials but this time focusing on interior objects.
Through a blurring of function and ornamentation I create cast glass shelves and girders as unique adornments for the interior. Working within and questioning the borders of function and ornamentation, design and sculpture.
The main principle that connects the two is a sense of time and movement within a permanent object. Also the defined structures used to give the form a strength to which this movement and transience contradicts.

People that like or are intrigued by what I do. If you are in a similar field and have ideas for putting on exhibitions and events.
I would like to hear from achitects and interior designers to develop the structural and shelving ideas and products.
At the moment my work is based on glass. But I want to get involved in kind of urban ephemeral projects and constructions. Continuing my obsession with time and focusing on a progressive and more positive artistic response. Things that will make you laugh, smile, go crazy for a bit and sit and absorb for a while.
ive invented the time machine..... its quite good..... generally speaking a smooth runner but has a bit of a rattle at 50...... 1850 that is... x x x x x x
Hello! I hear on good authority that you were at Wembley for a performance that beggared belief (to put it very mildly) after Joe and me had recently watched Yeovil take Forest apart with a display of scintillating attacking football just after watching Mogwai at a festival. Shocking! Anyway, hope you've recovered and all is good with you. Take Care daVE out oF verBal tigEr
