Jhypsy's local musical inspirations over the years have been musicians in the family, Roger Culter, Mike Raymer, & Joe Shockley. Other inspirations have been, Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin, Monster Magnet, Link Wray, The Irish Rovers, Black Sabbath, John Prine, Robby Roberson, various surf musicians, folk music, traditional music, tribal music, & classic 70's musicians.

Jhypsy trys to just keep it real & play what he feels. He's been told he has a unique sound because he combines middle eastern scales with a blues/folk/latin style. He mixs in a lil' surf riff here & there.
All Jhypsy's songs on here are 1 take recordings done live. He prefers to do it that way. Thanks for your patience & for listening. Music can heal the soul.
Jhypsy plays a unique blend of tribal, latin style & blues that I, Djinn just call 'Jhypsy music'. He plays what he feels in his heart & soul. He's entertained at such venues as Stevie Ray's Blues Bar, Air Devils Inn, Big Daves, Highland Tap Room, Starbucks & more. He plays for homeless cats on the streets & for the cows in the field across from our farm. He just loves to play.
