Sounds Like
Some Have said The Carter Family in our early years as a band. We are a diverse band now after working together with so many influences so I would welcome suggestions.
The Jill Fielding Band is a bunch of musicians who are passionate about music! Passionate about entertaining! Passionate about being LIVE! The band plays Irish, Americana, Country, folk rock, 50's &60's ,& classic rock and Cabaret. Lots of instruments are used during LIVE sets including the Electric/acoustic Guitar, Bodhran, Whistles, Keyboards, Banjo, Mandolin and the English Concertina. Its very hard not to like this band LIVE.There is also incredable 3 part hamonies!
All the members of the band are accomplished solo musicians in their own right, and have played in many clubs, festivals, arts centres, prisons, schools, country houses and private venues corporate in /outdoor events over the years. They have all played with different bands but have come together to form The Jill Fielding Band. The success of the band is due to the friendships within it and this is evident when you hear them. Jill is from Staffordshire originally, Nigel is from Lancashire, and Shaun is from St Helens.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
your songs just keep getting better your a very talented group who care about your music i can see it means everything to you hopefully one day i'll be up there playing guitar or keyboard still learning yet but i'll get there
Hey Jill & Co - Greetings from Indiana! Thanks for adding us as a friend. Love the tunes--a most cool combination of British and American folk (and yeah, I can hear that Carter Family connection--them's my roots!)
Hi Jill Fielding Band
Hows things? I hope you are well.
I have been asked to submit my song Rocky Mountain Lullaby (on my page) in a compotition where if successfull will be placed on a CD that goes around to all the major record labels/Radio stations. To get on this CD would just be wonderful for me as it is always so hard getting to be heard from the majors but this year I am really working hard to get my new album released on a major label. I really hope you will help me achieve this dream.
