About me: I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy (specifically Spinal Muscular Atrophy, SMA) when I was two and a half after my parents had noticed a slight tremor in my hands. This led to our relationship with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. When I was 7 I was chosen to be the New Jersey State Goodwill Ambassador for MDA. I got the chance to travel all over the state to various fundraising events. I was also chosen to serve as Goodwill Ambassador for another year after that. My first year on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon was also when I was 7. I opened the show in the New York area at WWORTV and I have been on the Telethon every year since. This past Labor Day was my 18th year appearing on the telethon!
I have spoken at countless MDA events in my life. I'm now referred to as a Goodwill Ambassador. I am fortunate enough to still be able to walk unlike most people with MD. Though, I use a motorized scooter to get myself around because I get tired when I walk long distances. My friends have made a habit of taking my scooter for joyrides which is half the reason it looks the way it does. The other half is me. :)
I'm currently a DJ at 94.3 The Point all because I was seen on the MDA Telethon one year. You can hear me Tuesday-Friday mornings, 12am-5am and Saturday nights, 8pm-2am. I also do voiceovers, write, act and model. I'd LOVE to branch out into music television and cartoon or videogame voice acting soon.
My other passion in life is writing. My blog is called "Has Boobs, Reads Comics" and it can be found at TheNerdyBird.com. You can also click the banner below to get there.
I blog about all things nerdy including comics, video games, tv, movies and lots more. If you like what you read you can help me out by voting my site Best Geek Blog. Just click the button below.
I'm also one of "The Girls" over at the Girls Entertainment Network. The editors of the GEN all represent a unique and amazing personality in the world of today’s pop culture.
I'm also on Twitter...

That's bad news for Philly. If they succeed with the "National" comic con in Oct, you can pretty much kiss Philly goodbye. Why operate 2 cons within 2 hours of each other when one of them hemorrhaging badly from mismanagement? While Big Apple Con is nothing to rave about, this move opens a whole new can of worms with them encroaching on NYCC territory and how they would run it. Will we be seeing midget wrestling or whatever goes on in a Wizard Con? This could be a very interesting year ahead.
Nice report on WWP Jill, but are you implying that this branch of Wizard World may be canceled next year? Looking at some of the pictures.. it's looks sparsely attended?!
