Jill is the power house of Chaka Khan, the charisma, sensuality of Tina Turner, the smooth tones of Annie Lennox, the conviction of Emmy Lou Harris, the soul of Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin, and the passion that comes from within, which allows everyone to experience truth through music.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia this powerful singer/songwriter is taking the world of rock music and making it her domain. JILL ROCK-JONES started playing flute when she was in elementary school. Born in a family filled with talented gospel singers and musicians she honed her own vocal skills by singing in the family choir. JILL was also a frequent soloist in her church youth choir. Realizing that music was her gift to share with the world, she went on to earn a degree in Music Performance and Theater from Alcorn State University. During her tenure at Alcorn JILL performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Natchez Music and several other annual shows in the Mississippi Delta Region. After college JILL came back to Atlanta and began performing at local clubs. She is a favorite at Apache Café, Smiths Old Bar, and Café 290. She has also performed at Soul Fusion (Atlanta), and the ASCAP Rock Convention. Inspired by power house singers such as Emmy Lou Harris, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner, JILL ROCK- JONES began writing songs that were sensual, honest, and inspiring. The result was her debut independent release Staring JILL ROCK-JONES. This project, on which she co-produced and co- wrote most of the tracks, has garnered critical acclaim. The infectious I Dont Like it When Your With Her and The One are just two of the staples in her live show that exude an energy which keeps her audience on their feet clamoring for more. ROCK sensation JILL ROCK JONES is definitely the artist to watch.
