Jill considers herself blessed to have played with all sorts of kind, wonderful folks. Among them are Dave Draves, Safwan Javed, Chris Page, Jim Bryson, John Carroll, Jerusha Lewis, Christine Mathenge, Karla Combres, Carlos Lopes, Gary Craig, Neil Gerster, George Koller, Thomas Yu and all the people in Saskatoon that used to go to Thursday-night bluegrass at Reid and Joey's house.
Jill Zmud has never robbed a bank. But that hasn’t stopped her from writing about it… She pens and sings songs about things like bank robberies, late-night rides home in winter, and how a person’s skin can sometimes feel like home.
A bit of a late bloomer, Jill began writing and playing music in her early 20’s. She has since performed on CBC Radio, played at Westboro Village's Westfest, and somehow found herself singing the theme song for TV’s "House and Home with Lynda Reeves". Jill launches her first full-length recording "as we quietly drive by" at the Black Sheep Inn on November 15th, 2009.
Jill alternates between keyboards (a new love), acoustic guitar, and a late 1960’s Fender Telecaster that belonged to her Uncle Eddy (a member of the band Witness Inc. in the 60’s and 70’s).
Trois nouvelles tounes sur le Myspace des Moindres, on lance un demo et un album à l'automne, donc nous aerions savoir ce que tu en penses. Merci d'avance!!
Thanks Jill, then the feeling is mutual! Just not the mister part... It's miss for you! How was last night's show? I had hoped to get down to see you and meet a friend of mine and couldn't make it. Trevor
NxEW.ca is a new Canadian music group blog. We have 60 + writers across Canada (and a few in the U.S.). We welcome anyone who wants to write about Canadian music - including musicians, promoters, managers, etc. (We're not the CBC and we exist to promote Canadian music, so conflict of interest is not an issue). If you'd like to chip in on the blog or want to submit stuff for consideration for the podcast get in touch at beach.justin at gmail.com
