at the age of four, when the brutal arizona summer days were not only hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, but hot enough to crisp you up a side of bacon and some hashbrowns as well, young jim bachmann, armed with a stack of 45's and LPs passed down to him by his dad and uncles, a set of headphones, an old black and white console complete with a record player on one side and an 8 track on the other, began his musical obsession.
by the time most kids were getting a handle on speaking in complete sentences, jim had already taught himself how to work the record player and spent his hours dissecting the old man's record collection. spending endless hours with anything and everything from the beatles white album, to old marshall tucker records to hoyt axton to the funky basslines of motown's james jamerson, music was and still is omnipresent.
the years passed and with all that comes and goes, inevitably one thing stayed the same. family barbecues would always find their way into moonlight choir singalongs. the songs that were sung to jim by his mom in the car became songs he sings to his children while singing them to sleep each night or driving them to school. through all the changes, the music was always there. the music was timeless.
