Peter von Althen, Dave Draves, Jake Bryce, Jeremy Gara, Jon Lomow. Often solo or not so full a band or whatever works. But this is the ideal show day book of names.
Jim Bryson is from Canada's "small town" capital city, Ottawa.
His has two critically acclaimed releases; 2000’s “The Occasionals” and 2003’s “The North Side Benches”, the latter of which appearing on many year-end “Best of” lists including that of Billboard’s Jason MacNeil and Americana UK’s Tim Ford. A third release: "Where The Bungalows Roam" is ready roll and to be released in Canada on March 27th by Kelp Records (Outside Distibution). The record was co-produced with Dave Draves (Kathleen Edwards), mixed by Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case, Sarah McLachlan) and mastered by Ryan Morrey (Arcade Fire, The Stills).
Jim is regular member of both Kathleen Edwards’ band and Giant Sand luminary Howe Gelb’s ‘Sno Angel group. As well, Kathleen covered Jim’s song “Somewhere Else”, from The North Side Benches, on her sophomore 2005 Rounder Records release, “Back to Me”. Jim’s songs have also appeared on numerous compilations, both in North America and the UK.
Jim plans to spend 2007 touring his new record, avoiding day jobs and playing more shows with Kathleen and Howe.
