A staple on Long Island’s acoustic music scene for over a decade, JIM FRAZZITTA has been writing music for most of his life and has a catalog of over 140 songs. He cofounded the band Nylon & Steel (“America’s Folk-Groovin’ Band") in 1994 with guitarist/bassist David Bartow. He fronted the band as singer/songwriter and lead guitarist for 9 years.
Since 2003, Jim has embarked upon a solo career as an acoustic singer/songwriter and is currently working on his debut solo album, Twenty Years Below, slated for release later this year (2007).
Jim also hosts the popular Folk-Groovin’ Café, a unique coffee-house event on the second Saturday of each month at St. Lawrence of Canterbury Church in Dix Hills, NY. It includes an open time during which all musicians and poets are welcomed and respected. Following this is a set of original music by Jim Frazzitta and, on some occasions, a set by a special guest feature.
The Café continues the long-standing tradition of Folk-Groovin’ Gatherings established by Nylon & Steel in 1996.
The Café will soon be podcasted—stay tuned for more information.
Jim Frazzitta is available for bookings.
