It is with great pride and pleasure that I have this opportunity to introduce you to Jimi Jeff and the Gypsy Band.
In all my years I have never experienced a band with such power, authenticity, diversity and musical expertise.
It's hands-down the best Jimi Hendrix cover band ever -- a true tribute to Jimi Hendrix - and much more.
The band is based in the beautiful Redwood North Coast of California and has a large and ever-growing following here in Humboldt County and across the West.
Besides Hendrix, the powerful band does blues, rock and more.
Band members include "Jimi" Jeff Robinson, Dale Cash, Angelo Dominick and Justin Brown -- all with decades of experience.
Jimi began his career on the South's Chittlin Circuit playing in a variety of funk bands.
He then moved on to Chicago and played with blues greats including Magic Slim, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and more.
Jimi's work was inspired by Jimi Hendrix from the beginning.
He made the pilgrimage to Seattle and was endorsed by Al Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix's father as the "authentic Hendrix experience."
Dale Cash was the long-time bass player for Eureka's Buddy Brown and the Hound Dogs - Ruben Diaz of Earth, Wind and Fire - Sam Maez - Randy Strom - Jerry Miller of Moby Grape - the Strand Band and Karen Dumont.
Angelo Dominick plays drums like he was born with the sticks in his hands.
Truely one of the greatest finds in Humboldt county.
Justin Brown has played bass in numerous bands and has a versitility that is rare and unique making every song his own.
Corby Yates is a frequent guest performer at the open jam, at "The Forks" in Willow Creek. A truely amazing musical experience that you must see and hear for yourself to believe.
When in town,(Eureka) the band plays frequently at Humboldt County clubs including the Humboldt Brewery - Rumours - After Five Club - Sal's Myrtlewood Lounge - Clam Beach Inn - The Playroom - Sal's Off Broadway and the Six Rivers Brewery.
They also perform at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life - the Humboldt County Fair - Eureka's Summer Concert Series - the Mateel Community Center's Summer Arts and Music Festival in Benbow and Eureka's Arts Alive among others.
Jimi Jeff and the Gypsy Band also hosts an Wednesday night open mic jam session at "The Forks lounge" in Willow Creek night at 9 P.M.
Signup begins at 8:30 PM.
