Having DJ'd ever since good friend Pete Aamoth left his decks, several Bob James LPs, and a copy of Super Duck Breaks at his house for the summer in the late 90's (p.s. sorry neighbors...learning to transform scratch with one break record must have gottten annoying in retrospect), DJ Jimi Scott has grown in reputation as one of Montana's premier party-rockers.
After solidifying his craft (as well as his his crates) in the Bay Area for four years after college, he has returned home and amazed crowds all over the state with high-energy sets of hip-hop and r&b, house, breakbeat and baltimore club, disco, reggaeton, and dancehall.
In addition to his weekend jump-offs, Jimi created the weekly Thursday night party "Jazz to Jungle", an eclectic mix of classic soul and r&b, golden-era hip-hop, roots reggae & lovers rock, as well as the best in nu-soul and electronica. It became Billings's first and only grown and sexy dj music night.
He has committed himself to bringing in outside talent to the state, and has previoulsy brought out and promoted shows with the Crown City Rockers, The Rub from NYC, DJ Mel from Austin, DJ's Ross Hogg & Neta from SF, DJ Wisdom from Oakland, John Carmichael of L.A., and DJ Casios Petros from Minneapolis.
As a performer, Jimi Scott has shared the stage both individually as well as back-up dj for local acts opening up for 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Olivia, Mobb Deep, Lil Jon, Pitbull, Lil Scrappy, Bizarre from D-12, E-40, Tupac's Outlawz, Shiny Toy Guns & Ja Rule.
In the summer of 2007 Jimi relocated to Denver, Colorado, and while focusing on grad school, is still hustling on the club circut. Stay tuned for upcoming gigs... For booking or general inquiries, get at jscottjr@earthlink.net
