Jimmy & The Mirrors

Proving that it is still possible to combine mature and thoughtful indie-pop with a positive and ultimately Australian attitude, Adelaide’s Jimmy & The Mirrors are making waves across the suburbs, wheat fields and live venues of Australia. 2010 saw the four-piece being hand-picked for Adelaide’s Parklife Festival, selected as a “Hot Six Band” by Rip It Up magazine, and invited to play the Fuse Festival’s ‘Explode’ showcase for industry and fans. To top off a wonderful year, the boys received a Federal Government touring grant, which saw them play over fourteen shows in two weeks across regional NSW, VIC and SA. Prior to all this, The Mirrors had firmly cemented themselves as a band to watch, having supported Art vs. Science, Jonathan Boulet, Dukes of Windsor and Wolf & Cub as well as consistently selling out shows in flamboyant style. This year has seen the band write and record their third EP ‘Hard To Find’, a self-produced 7-track collection of songs touching on themes as diverse as single-parenting, the search for religious figures, Egyptian princesses, the fear of growing old and homelessness. The songs have been met with praise, with the boys’ knack for crafting meaningful, catchy and contemporary songs on show stronger than ever.
