My name is Jimmy Brown, I'm originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland though have been living in North Carolina for the last few years. I've been touring the states and europe on the back of my first solo release 'Muzzle The Muse' which I co-wrote with renowned Irish poet, 'Adrian Rice'.
I'm in the process of recording a full length record which shall be released on all digital stores when I finish it.

With a vibe that mingles Irish and folk and soul, placing Jimmy
Brown near Van Morrison is easy. Brown's songs, though, tend to be more
cohesive, and his vocals are more gentle—delicate at times.
Citybeat FM -
An extraordinary collection of songs, Jimmy Brown is yet another great Irish songwriter.
Creative Loafing (live review @ The Visulite Theater) -
Belfast-native, who now resides in Hickory, N.C. Jimmy Brown kicked off the show by playing a number of indie/acoustic songs. This included “Day By Day,” “Butter Won’t Melt,” “Yo Yo Heart,” and others. During one of his newbie songs, called “Rilke Says,” Brown used a loop pedal to add extra elements and cool sounds to the soundscrapes already deep and moving lyrics. Brown wrapped up his set with a cover of Waterboys’ “Fishermans Blues.” Most recently, Brown has been busy recording, traveling and performing shows in Ireland and other parts of Europe.

Jimmy’s music is the kind that makes you sit back and think about the bittersweet beauty of life… His songs have played a very important part in my life and made me not want to waste it… ‘Yo Yo Heart’ is truly my life’s theme song.
See me through days of wine and roses by and by when the morning comes, jazz and blues and folk, poetry and jazz voice and music, music and no music silence and then voice music and writing, words memories, memories way back. (Van Morrison)
Balcony TV was grand. Was good fun. I think it's going on the web site on the 13th October so we'll see then I guess.
In all seriousness, it would be April / May when I'd be heading out. If we could arrange something that really would be cool. Nashville would be unreal!!!! The Ryman or somewhere like that would be okay I guess !
Thanks. I'm gonna try and get to the States before Christmas this year but I'm going to go to the West Coast. But once the album comes out in the new year I want to head over to do some kind of tour of the States so would love to do some shows with you over there. Is Charlotte and good place for gigs ?
