Hey there Jim, long time no see. Missed you and Ed at the Foxboro triple header, hoping to make it down again in the next few weeks.
Haven't taken the newer version of the test, actually afraid of where it may place me as my previous results had to be dumbed down a bit to avoid being placed as an Anarchist, which I assure you I am not. I would agree with you that you most certainly can be for the free market while being against bringing back the gold standard, one is just a further extension of the other but they are certainly not mutually exclusive terms, much like "education" and "public school". If we desire to return to the status of a Constitutional Republic then returning power to the States is a necessity. While I vote for the Libertarian Party as it is what is closest to my views, admittedly I find myself some where between the libertarian and federalist philosophizes - after leaving the powers to the States there lies a large gray area in regards to what they should and should not regulate (the libertarian philosophy would oppose legislation on ANY level, federal or state). The movement behind Ron Paul is overwhelmingly grass roots, I gather that most of them primarily vote Libertarian so they may not have participated in the GOP primary outside of his involvement, and that this cross over is seen in the hopes that it will help spread the libertarian philosophy and get people thinking about small government, non-interventionalism, etc. again as the Republican party of old did, many large and small L libertarians regards themselves as true Republicans (with the party having lost it's way with the Neo-Con movement). Think the Democrats aiming left with Howard Dean in an attempt to lure Green/Nader voters to the Democrat Party in 2004, the hope is that perhaps the GOP will see the same allure toward running pro-liberty candidates in fut
I almost tried to make it down, but I wasn't sure if you actually had to be a member to watch there, I'm assuming the answer is no? That site you passed along has been a god send man, I can't thank you enough.
