It's truly a rare talent that can combine virtuosity in musical chops
with heartfelt singing and lyrics, yet Jimmy Galloway is just such a
talent. With the gentleness of Mark Knopfler's brand of Americana, the
dexterous-yet-tasteful finger picking skill of Phil Keaggy, the
melodic depth of Richard Thompson, and a touch of the warm melancholia
of Nick Drake, he's truly a remarkable talent. With just 6 songs,
there's no room on this EP for filler, but "One Foot" is a standout,
with its hints of classic Tin Pan Alley songwriting. Also, the
recording quality on "Waiting for the Fall" is a pristine and finely
separated stereo recording of the acoustic guitar and it's remarkably
clear; this mini-album is a true pleasure to listen to.
