Jimmy Limo is a professional guitarist and vocalist whose music has been entertaining crowds for over 30 years:
"Born and raised in the outskirts of Los Angeles, I grew up listening to the musical legends of the fifties and sixties. My musical inspirations run from the blues of Albert King and Muddy Waters, to the jazz of George Benson and Miles Davis, to the classic rock of the Ventures and Jimi Hendrix's mellow ballads. After attending the University of Southern California on a full scholarship, I left the smog and crowds in 1972 for the musically inspirational beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. It was there that I developed my melodic guitar style. For twenty years I performed in luxury resorts, restaurants and nightclubs on virtually every island. For 10 of those years I fronted "Holy Smoke! and the Smokettes".
Besides playing music full-time, I also owned and operated my own guitar shop, "Mauna Kea Music" and opened the popular and wildly successful restaurant/nightclub "The Redwater Cafe" on the Big Island of Hawaii. In 1990 I left the islands for the burgeoning blues scene in Portland, Oregon, where I played regularly until leaving for Las Vegas in 1999. There I performed with my musical partner Christina Eastman, an amazing musical force of nature who sings, plays keyboard and drums, and a killer rock'n'blues harmonica. She's currently back in Scio, Oregon, working on her next album.
For over 8 years I have also been playing 5 days a week at the Nevada Palace Casino, soon to be the Eastside Cannery. With a repertoire of over 300 songs (smooth jazz, blues, rock'n'roll, classic country and original tunes) I always have the right song for the right situation. My music is relaxing, enjoyable and above all, ACCESSIBLE. I never play over my audience's heads and am always aware of the appropriate volume level. For a refreshing change from the common"piano bar" music for dinner and after-dinner drinking and dancing, try JIMMY LIMO ."
