Coming from all walks of the musical world, JIMMY LOVELACE pulls together many flavors and genres to his music. Performing with country, metal, funk, southern rock (former lead singer for Lynyrnd Skyrynd tribute band) and disco acts for twenty plus years, it’s hard to leave all those grooves and fills behind. Lovelace said in a recent interview "There is no bad genre of music ...all of it is awesome ...just bad artists". When asked about the most important influences, Lovelace responded "MR. Tubb, Porter Wagner, Hank Williams Sr. & Jr. Waylon and Willie, Black gospel and of course ELVIS, Lynyrnd Skyrynd, the Outlaws, Wet Willie, P-Funk .....all of those artists have great harmonies, which is something I love .....just basic gospel harmonies ......they are so powerful". On the topic of performing live LOVELACE said "I get real jacked up live .......I love the flow of people when the wires connect music is a very strong force in the world. It can make people smile or cry or stop and think, which is something the world needs more of ........people seem to be going through the motions with life, but life is just a big pinball machine with only one ball. It’s up to you how the ball bounces". Going on about live perfomances, LOVELACE said "The big thing with perfoming live is to making people forget the possbile negatives in their lives and smile for a while .......Hell, everybody has a storm in the closet that they need to get a way from ........for a while". The tunes on the web page are diverse but connected. "Something New" is a pretty funny damn tune (listen to lyrics close next time). From that extreme to the heartfelt "do ya?", lots of muscial water has been under JIMMY LOVELACE ’S bridge, and all tastes have come to the top. Hope you hang around and listen a while .
UPDATE : 2007 has been a great year for JIMMY LOVELACE tunage !!! Jimmy has enjoyed lots of plays on intenet radio stations CYGNUS , INDIELIFE , HARLEYRADIO.COM , ROUND - UP RADIO , INDIE OUTPUT ETC..... Also did a rare live2 hour interview with Indielife DJ Dollfairy!!! Its was a great show Thanks Doll! Jimmy was also the featured artist on "The Brave New Frontiers radio show out of Canada being being broadcast thru out the world .....:):):) The songs featured we’re do ya ? and Something New .Jimmy returned the next week to the show from listeners requesting do ya ? Thanks to show host Randall Cousins for the love and a great show .
The fall of 2007 was a breakthru time for Jimmy Lovelace music getting FM radio plays on the Homegrown Hour on US 98.3 . With Host Mike Elliott .
The fall of 2007 has been a VERY creative time for Jimmy Lovelace..... writing many new tunes including " With My Final Breathe , When you Seventeen , I’ m Gonna Be Famous I’m Gonna Be Free to name a few. Gonna Be Famous I’m Gonna Be Free is up for a consideration for a national ad campain for the Center for Abused and Expolited Children. Maine Promoter Damion from Indielife Radio has been the bridge between the two camps and is negotiating the deal .
Now for the Future :
The first Jimmy Lovelace cd was released March 17 2008 The cd will be named Phoenix The Acoustic Songs of Jimmy Lovelace....The disc will have many unreleased Lovelace tracks !!!! Ok enough for now ..more to come .
