Influences
I wouldn't say I had any particular influences. There would be too many to mention. But, it's unusual, that the music I've listened to most, I don't sound anything like or try to. I just sound the way I sound.. and that's it. Can't really do much about it apart from follow my gut feelings.
I went down to a studio in Circus Lane, Edinburgh to do a few recordings. Recorded lots of songs acoustically with a click track. Dugald Brough, the engineer, was a great source of encouragement. Kenny Brady came down to put some cosmic violin on a few tracks and Electra laid down backing vocals on 'Quiet Life'.
A week or so into some basic recording I was in a pub in Edinburgh called Bannermans. I bumped into Dave Maxwell from the Edinburgh band Sans Trauma, an old friend I hadn't seen for many years. He was with Laurence Lean (from Edinburgh band Last Great Wilderness) watching Electra sing at the Full Moon club.
Before we knew it we were in the studio. Laurence and David played to the original click track recordings. The songs on this page are some of the results. The plan is to do more recording.
There were seven songs finished:
Quiet Life
Primordial Soup
Trigger Happy Go Lucky Town
Nostalgia
Universe
Walls
All Gone Tomorrow
The songs on this page represent the different dynamics of the music. It is what it is. Bye for now. Best of luck to you all,
Jimmy
