Born in NYC and raised upstate in Glens Falls, Jimmy Riot graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, then went on to Manhattan School of Music as a Merit scholar, where he studied with legendary bassist Anthony Jackson. He went on to pursue hard rock in Florida, and shortly returned to NYC to combine this with playing sideman gigs for all types of music, playing bass & singing back-ups.
Jimmy has performed on Letterman, Leno, Craig Kilborn, Jimmy Kimmel, and European equivalents. He's toured with Patti Rothberg, Leona Naess, Swimmer (as a member), and was recently Musical Director (& bass & vocals) for Alexa Ray Joel for two years. He also produced Alexa's 2007 album "Sketches". Throughout most of this, he's maintained his own art-metal band called "Torture Sermon", whose 2008 self-titled album was co-produced by Jimmy and Multi-Platinum producer Aaron Johnson, of "The Fray" fame, who also engineered and mixed the 11-song album.
