Ever since the days in the ol' shack out back of "El Casa Colbourne" Den Bosch (circa.2002), the combined creative whims of David Colbourne and Christian Hemmen have been diligently at work exploring the boundaries of electronic music and beyond.
Long nights and even longer weekends have been the building blocks for the auditorial stimulation that has come to life over the last few years. With both members having a ripe musical background, live instrumentation and acoustic reverberations are fundamental to the Slipper sound.
Acoustic drum kit beats (Christian) are recorded live and mixed with electronic drum sounds and samples (David) to fill up the needed ambience. Instruments include an accordian rescued from a skip, acoustic & electric guitars, not forgetting the evergrowing stockpile of synths and other electronic odds and ends that contribute to the melodic chaos. Het is alweer 7,5 jaar geleden dat ik mijn boekingskantoor opende onder de noemer ' The Choice For Better Noise'. Tijd voor een feestje lijkt me!
Met Astrosoniq (try-out gig), Gomer Pyle en het Duitse noiseduo Dÿse in de zaal van W2/Den Bosch en The Liszt en Niels Duffhues, beiden akoestisch in de foyer, ben ik van mening een kwalitatief hoogstaand en afwisselend programma te presenteren. Bovendien zal niemand minder dan Walter Roadburn van tevoren, tussen de bedrijven door en na afloop een vette DJ show verzorgen waarbij de focus zal komen te liggen op het betere 70's werk. Slechts 10 euro entree en daarvoor krijg je dan ook nog een hapje geserveerd.
Op zaterdag 23 mei om 19:30 gaan de deuren open en om 20:00 trapt de eerste act af.! Ticketverkoop is gestart via www.w2.nl
