Jimmy Watts is a singer/songwriter/one man band based in Brisbane. He's an explosive and intense performer, known for his hard and fast guitar playing and lung popping harmonica solos while driving a freight train beat on a kick drum and high hats. His performances are simply mesmorising to watch, and are a truly unique, original and memorable experience.
Over his professional career Jimmy Watts has collaborated with fiddle players, conga players, singer/songwriters, African drum troupes, and a wide variety of other musicians; and has played solo support shows for the likes of Queensland blues and roots institution '8 Ball Aitken' and Golden Guitar nominee 'Nik Phillips'. At present Jimmy is performing, and recorded the latest album Dig.Dig...Dig, with percussionist Mellissa Hender who has a strong background in traditional West African drumming. She plays the dununba's (a set of three, large cow and goat hide skinned drums) and a djembe and various other bells and shakers. All these drums add another layer of groove to the already pumping live shows.
With the ability to transform on stage from a wildly untamed, guitar thrashing and foot stomping maniac to a sweet heartfelt fingerpicking folkster, and everything in between, Jimmy Watts seems to effortlessly move between Dylan style ballads and hillbilly blues to a funked up brand of folk and even catchy surfin' tunes.
Performing three to four nights a week in one form or another, Jimmy has taken his music from his home town Toowoomba to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Far North Qld and can be seen regularly across South East Qld and northern NSW.

Hello to all, Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.
We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;

Hey Guys, I'm letting you know that I can't open on the 24th. It turns out I'm playing at a wedding and there's money involved! But please, still keep me in mind for other stuff in the area. Cheers!
see, in school we were the loners; the rebels. but now we're just analog kids in a digital world, lost and confused. myspace 'acceptance' gives us the appropriate digital 'pep' to keep going on.
