Jim's Interests
|
| General | American and Carolina History,Religions, Travel, Friends, and Music | | Music | I love mine the best. I always seem to do it just the way I like it. Other than myself I like all Old School Soul and R&B, Traditional and Outlaw Country, I'm still a sucker for 80's "synth" music (hey! It was that or hair bands). I've grown to love the Blues, which took me a while to learn that simplicity is beautiful, deep, and very difficult to convey. My appreciation is great for most all singer/songwriters, but my favorites are: Delbert McClinton, Gary Nicholson, Paul Thorn, David Wilcox, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, and Sam Cooke.

I sing and dance. I even look a little bit like Bobby Brown (during "New Edition" days).

Jim's Blurbs |
About me:
Born between the Swamps and the Sandhills of North Carolina, I am a true down south-easterner. My Daddy whopped my ass, my Mama spoiled me, and my baby sister she...um...well, she whipped my ass too. I burned down 14 acres when I was in the boy scouts and I flooded an entire apartment complex trying to build a dam like a damn beaver when I was 12 years old. My best friend as a child was a guy named Billy who I never talk to or see anymore accept once at a show in Goldsboro where he is now a successful attorney with a beautiful family. He saw that I had become a crazed musician with tactics similar to a guest on Jerry Springer. He said to his children, "Run kids, run". And that was pretty much the end of that. I am your typical man gluten for punishment. Kind and understanding hearts always prevail, but only after the world beats the life out of them. I have one child, a pug named Miller. Named after Auther Miller: An American playwright whose works include Death of a Salesman (1949), for which he won a Pulitzer Prize, and The Crucible (1953). Ok, she was named after the beer. I'm in the musical phenomenons known as "Coastline" and "King Tyrone and the Graveyard Ramblers". This is my life, or it's seems to be taking up what's left of my living years. I've given up everything to be a part of this eclectic monster of notes and rhythms. Thanks to my entire line up of band mates, new and old, for a wonderful life. It was either do this or sell radio advertising for AM radio in rural Carolina. It would be easier to shove a Reuben down Gandhi's throat.
