The backbone of the group is the most anomalous rhythm section to arise on the modern music scene since the Funk Brothers. Bill Warren, on drums, hails from Wilmington, NC. A music intructor from UNCW and a performer with many great regional acts like the Guy Phillips Trio. His partener in crime, Albert Rogers on bass, comes to Coastline via Jim Weider and Levon Helm of "The Band" along with artists like soul phenomenon Grayson Hugh. Mention made that Albert's an incredible vocalist. The inimitable vocals and humorous antics of lead singer Jim Quick are captivating and a perfect hybrid of every essence of soul. He has won more accolades than any other entertainer at the Carolina Music Awards. Casey Meyer is the blues boy in the band. Although the youngest member of Coastline in regard to age, Casey slides on his guitar with the confidence and grace of his many adored older mentors. He is the essence of Coastline's roots and earmark. The multi-talented Glen Tippett rounds out this perfect culmination of musicians. This virtuoso is a highly trained saxophonist and keyboardist and completes this unique sound of the south.
Coastline is signed with Atlanta-based label, Landslide Records. Their debut national release, "Sweet 'N' Ripe", released in April of 2005 is a perfect collection of the nuances of the band. Over half of the album is original material written by the group, while the remainder of the album is comprised of rare material from legendary impressionable artists such as Hank Ballard, Lee Dorsey, and Jimmy Reed. The latest effort, "Sneakin' Out Back", has soared to the top of the Carolina Music Scene and already receiving attention nationwide. The Album is mostly a collection of original material recorded in Auguta, GA and released early 2007.
The buzz is on about Coastline. With their legions of fans known as Coastline Crazies, the band travels all over performing nearly 300 shows per year. Teamed with management company, Crewser Entertainment, Coastline is one of the most sought after acts on the road today, staying booked over a year in advance.
