Jim Reaper is a breakbeat producer based in London, England. Hailing from UK, Jim moved to Calgary in 1993. By 1996 he was turning his hand to music production under the pseudonym Archangel, making hard and minimal techno. Over the next couple of years his style migrated towards the more groove based sounds of breakbeat, influenced by artists in the UK Big Beat and Nu Skool Breakz scenes. After completing a diploma course at the Conservatory for Recording Arts & Sciences in Phoenix, Arizona, Jim moved back to the UK and has since been based out of London. 2009 saw a dramatic change in writing styles as the new Jim Reaper moniker came in to being, and his first releases under the name came out on RFR. Aside from his music production, Jim owns Humanbeatbox.com under which he runs the UK Beatbox Championships, International Human Beatbox Convention and 5th Element beatboxer agency. He also co-owns the World Beatbox Association, under which he co- organizes the American Beatbox Championships.
