Jim Suruda's first exposure to metal was on August 15th, 1966, when his mother listened to a radio broadcast of Wagner while Jim was still two months away from birth. Jim kicked approvingly to the Ride of The Valkyries. While growing up in New Jersey, Jim admired Molly Hatchet album covers, and rocked out to Maiden while in high school.
Jim has studied Slayer while on fishing boats in the Aleutians, absorbed Scorpians while working on a fire crew in Utah, and deconstructed Romanian metal while teaching high school math in Bucharest.
Currently Jim is in Nashville working on a Nordic metal themed album (working title: Straight Out Of Asgard), slated for release in December 2006.
